The Recent Past:

Dylan Hurwitz & Hank Ehrenfried

Auxier Kline is pleased to present the two-person online presentation, The Recent Past: Dylan Hurwitz & Hank Ehrenfried. During a year in which time has seemingly lost all relevancy, this collection of newly created paintings by both Brooklyn-based artists depict specific moments of idiosyncratic importance, selected and illustrated from their personal histories. Often titled to reflect the exact location as a time stamped memory, captured through snap shots or plein air, Hurwitz and Ehrenfried have created bodies of work that depict personal narrative through a queer lens, interceding with the collective unconscious and unparalled shared experience of the recent past. By marking time and expressing their personal overlapping truths through the vehicle of painting, Hurwitz and Ehrenfred edify the notion that the individualized is truly the most ubiquitous.
